Battery Plants
ERG has been engaged in 1995 by Exide Industries Limited, India's premier battery manufacturer. The project involved setting up of a composite battery factory at a 60-acre greenfield site in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The scope of work involved in the project include:

Coordination of Contour, Soil and Hydrogeological Site Surveys and Environmental Impact Assessment. |

Preparation of a master plan for the development of the site, in conjunction with Exide's growth plans. |

Development of the infrastructure requirements for the battery plant |

Landscaping and greenbelt development. |
| • |
Design, detailing and supervision of construction of staff quarters with all infrastructure and amenities. |

Documentation and technical support for obtaining all statutory clearances, such as approvals and other related clearances from Pollution Control Board, Department of Environment, Inspector of Factories, Controller of Explosives, Fire Safety officer, etc. |
These works have been carried out in four different phases, consistent with the phased expansion of the plant by Exide, from 1995 to 2000.
ERG has also been associated with preparation of the master plan and design and construction of the first phase of the infrastructure including utility services of Exide's new plant at Bawal, Haryana, during 1998-99.
During the last 5 years, we have had the opportunity to be involved in all areas of planning and engineering of the battery plants, other than process technology and process plant, which were totally managed inhouse by our clients.
